Historic Piano Concerts (Malta) is pleased to announce the opening concert for the upcoming season which will feature two top Canadian musicians – flautist Rebecca Hall and pianist Karin di Bella. Together they will perform a potpourri of pieces by Canadian and Maltese composers which will please many musical tastes alike.

Dr Rebecca Hall is the principal flautist with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra since many years. She features in many concerts both locally and abroad as soloist and forms part of the Cosmos Wind Ensemble, together with the best wind musicians from the MPO. Rebecca is visiting lecturer for flute and baroque studies at the University of Malta.

Dr Karin di Bella is an accomplished pianist and educator. She has appeared as a concerto soloist with orchestras in the United States and Canada. Karin is currently Associate Professor of Piano at Brock University and her areas of expertise include historic instruments and techniques of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Historic Piano Concerts offers a unique classical music experience through the combination of top musicians; one of the most inspiring and authentic-sounding pianos on the island – a historic A.D. 1890 Blüthner piano; and a stunning venue – the Cathedral Museum, in the heart of Malta’s medieval city of Mdina.

The main halls of the museum will be open throughout the evening and patrons will be welcome to walk around and enjoy the Art.
Wine will be served after the concert with compliments of Emmanuel Delicata Winemaker Ltd.
