How to reach the Museum

Planning a visit to the Mdina Cathedral Museum? There are many options on how to come pay us a visit. You can easily reach Mdina by bus, taxi, bike,  hop on hop off service, and sightseeing tours.

Public Transport – Bus

Mdina Bus

For trips starting from Valletta you can catch a bus from the  bus terminal in Valletta . Buses N° 51​​52 and 53 run leave Valletta every 10 minutes and take you to Mdina in about half an hour. The price of the  ticket is 2.60 per person and is valid all day. Tickets may be purchased  on the bus or at one of the ticket machines at the bus terminal.

TIP: No buses enter Mdina itself but you can get off at Rabat, just outside the Mdina Gate and its just 500 metres on foot to the Mdina historic centre.

Visitors  can  access the website of the Malta Public Transport and find all the information related to reaching Mdina by public bus transport. Free copies of the Malta Public Transport Route Map can be found at  the Tourist office in Mdina or from the Malta Tourist Office in Valletta.

Mdina Museum Taxi

Taxi 

The official Taxis are white with the Taxi number shown at the side. White taxis can be hailed in places where it is safe to stop including designated taxi stands or booking from taxi booths. There are also a number of private taxi companies such as eCabs or Taxify which can be contacted by phone or downloadable App.
