A patriotic hymn composed by Mro Luigi Vella (1868-1950), with verses contributed by Prof. Luigi Billion (1860-1939) dedicated to Dr Filippo Sciberras and Dr Fortunato Mizzi. This hymn was composed when Malta was granted a measure of self-government after 120 years of British rule. It was first premiered in Sliema, on the 22nd of August 1921 to celebrate the event.
The musical score and other transcriptions for 𝘎𝘳𝘒𝘯 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘰, 𝘳π˜ͺπ˜₯𝘢𝘻π˜ͺ𝘰𝘯π˜ͺ 𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘷𝘰𝘀π˜ͺ 𝘦 𝘱π˜ͺ𝘒𝘯𝘰𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘡𝘦 and 𝘱𝘒𝘳𝘡π˜ͺ𝘡𝘢𝘳𝘒 𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘒 𝘣𝘒𝘯π˜₯𝘒 𝘦 2 𝘷𝘰𝘀π˜ͺ were printed in Florence by A. Forlivesi & Co. A year later, 7.5.1922, another transcription in a reduced manner was published for orchestra with instructions to perform the known British Anthem “𝙂𝙀𝙙 π™Žπ™–π™«π™š π™©π™π™š π™†π™žπ™£π™œ” immediately afterwards.
